How do I install GMS on a Ubuntu linux system?

Question

I would like to run GMS on a Ubuntu system, is this possible?

I tried an install but this resulted in errors loading some libraries.

Answer

GMS Can be installed on Ubuntu – however like several of the more recent Linux systems, it requires that you first install older compatablity system libraries first.

This is very easy to do on Ubuntu. Start Synaptec Package Manager, then use the search option to search for the text "c++".

In the results list, you should be able to find a package as follows:

libstdc++5           "The GNU Standard C++ Library v3"

Install this package, and any dependancies, and you should then be able to install GMS with no further issues. This article only applies to build 3396 and later of GMS.
