How do I find from, to… and size of a mail?

Answer

The SMTP log should show you all you need. The following is a typical log entry:

SMTP 24 Sep 2000 22:59:37 S 3016 8 local mail 21593776500047 user@other.dom
[1.2.3.4] user@local.dom 1761 bytes

It shows mail arriving at the server for user@local.dom. It was sent by user@other.dom, and came from IP 1.2.3.4. The size of the message is 1761 bytes.

It is possible to automate the reading of this information using an MML script, for instance you could have the script parse both the POST and SMTP logs for a certain day to see how many messages were sent and received by any particular user on the system (or indeed all users).
