How do I create a log of the SMTP and POP3 communications?

Detail

Creating an SMTP/POP3 communications log can help in diagnosing many communications problems between the mail client, WorkgroupMail, an ISP and other mail servers on the internet.

Open the Administrator program and click on the Settings icon.
Select the ‘Logging’ tab and tick the box to enable SMTP/POP3 communication logging.
If prompted, specify a path for the log file.

Please remember that the logging function is a diagnostic tool that may have an impact on the performance of your mail server. The log files can be very large in size. You should disable this facility once you have finished your testing.

Note: WorkgroupMail v8.1 and later can be set to purge older log files. This is configured on the Purging tab of the Settings properties. By default it is set to delete log files older than seven days.
