Question
Email messages can often have attachments. These are typically Word or Excel
documents which are being transferred from one person to another. Unfortunately,
the attachments may have a virus in them – a well known one is the “Word Macro Virus”.
Answer
All our products have an optional Virus Scanner. This software decodes the attachment
from a mail message and passes it to a virus checker. If
the standard virus scanner detects a virus, the virus scanner can be told
what to do with the email. For example, it can be returned to sender,
be redirected to an administrator or even sent on with a message inserted
warning about the virus.
