How can I delete a timed event from GMS?

Question

GMS appears to continue to run timed events even though they were either previously removed or the software key associated with these events has expired.

How can I prevent these from running in the future?

Answer

GMS provides an interface to control timed events under the System > Timed Events page of the administration interface.

Simply highlight the event you wish to remove and lick on the Delete button. (In older versions of GMS click on the D to the right of the event in question.)

For example, to delete the timed event that fetches new virus definition files you would delete the Virus Updates timed event.

Note: You should only delete events you are sure are no longer used by GMS. If you do accidentally delete a system event it can be recreated by visiting the appropriate page of the administration interface.
