Question
Instead of having your mail client periodically poll the server for new messages, it is possible to reverse this role and have the server update the client upon arrival of a new message. This is the fundamental purpose of the IDLE command.
Answer
GMS Build 3241 and higher supports IMAP IDLE and this is enabled by default.
If you wish to disable the IDLE option you will need to edit the "System Variables" directly. Ensure IMAPIDLE has a value of 0 to disable it.
