Although MAPI provides an interface for third parties to use in order to send mail, it relies on proprietary Microsoft technology in order to process that mail.
While GMS software complies with all Internet standards, it also supports Microsoft’s proprietary MAPI interface via the GMS Collaboration Server and so GMS does support the use of MAPI via the collaboration module.
