Can I use the GMS Web Organizer address books and calendars with MS Outlook?

Question

Do the GMS Web Organizer address book and personal calendaring features work for clients using MS Outlook?

Answer

Microsoft use a proprietary, non open method to communicate calendar and address book events between client and server. To allow the integration of MS Outlook into GMS Gordano have developed GMS Collaboration which allows full integration with Outlook includeing the ability to use the GMS Address Books.

GMS Web Organizer is an open standards based web mail client. It includes its own addess book and personal calendaring facilities.

GMS Webmail (and GMS Web Organizer) can import and export address books from a wide variety of other systems including Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc.

Further development of GMS Web Organizer will include the ability to share calendars with others. This sharing will be based around the iCal open standard so calendar events will be understood by any client supporting the iCal standard.
