Question
We are discovering that more and more customers are wanting to run their mail server in a virtual environment. Unlike some other messaging vendors, GMS’ migration procedure has been designed to be as straightforward as possible.
Factoring in the size of your current installation, you can be up and running on the new server within minutes.
Answer
Yes, moving your configuration to a virtual server is made possible by the transfer of the GMS server recovery file.
This procedure is CPU independent so if you were moving from Intel to Sparc processor, the process would be no different. More information can be found HERE.
If you are wanting to move GMS from Windows to Linux before moving to a virtual server, please also see THIS KB article.
