Question
I have a problem with receiving files from our POP3 dial up account. AutoDial downloads the files to the GMS Mail out directory but they are not routed from there to the user’s mailboxes. They appear as *.msg files.
What am I doing wrong?
Answer
This is no longer a problem for those using version 4 or later of GMS Mail because the functionality of Autodial was included in the basic GMS Mail product.
The msg files are created by AutoDial and they are the spooled POP email waiting for delivery to GMS Mail. The fact that they never get delivered suggests that your AutoDial delivery rules are incorrect.
Check the Delivery Rule settings in AutoDial against the headers of the spooled messages – you can view them with a text editor like Notepad.
