What is Quarantine?

Answer:
To quarantine a file or message means to move an infected message, into an area where it cannot cause more harm. Both GMS Anti-Spam and GMS Anti-Virus are equipped with quarantine options so that the server or domain administrator can keep track of of activity.

Messages that have been quarantined can be inspected and either allowed through to the original recipient or redirected to another account for further processing.

GMS Anti-Spam also provides a quarantine option for each individual user on the system which is used in conjunction with the personal anti spam filters, such as the patent pending confirmation filter.

Users can inspect their own quarantine areas regularly to ensure that no legitimate messages are beign blocked by their filters.
