PRESS RELEASE: Gordano Focuses on Security with Latest Release of Messaging Suite.

New features of GMS include significant anti-spam upgrades, a new Quarantine feature, and increased LDAP authentication capabilities

(May 1, 2007) Gordano Ltd.. - an international developer of comprehensive enterprise-class messaging products delivering scalability and reliability – announces today the release of a new version of the Gordano Messaging Suite (GMS), a multi-platform messaging system providing an easy-to-use alternative to Microsoft Exchange that is compatible with Windows (NT, XP, 2000, 2003), Linux (SELinux, Redhat, Suse, Mandrake, Debian, etc.), Solaris and AIX.

"Gordano’s reputation of providing a powerful and highly scalable offering continues with the release of GMS V14," said John Stanners, Managing Director of Gordano. "Customer demand has always been the driver of new features and functionality of GMS – this new version incorporates not only what our customers want, but the technology and capabilities they need to work safer, smarter and more efficiently."

New features of GMS V14 include significant enhancements to both GMS Mail and GMS WebMail, including: SELinux support, enhanced external authentication, chained SSL certificate support, Fedora Core 6 support, administrator interface improvements, improved WebMail performance and support for Office 2007

Whitelisting is now available to allow bypassing of anti-spam checks based on email address, domain name, IP address or hostname. These bypasses can be applied system-wide or only for specific local domains. Authentication of senders is provided at various stages to prevent spoofing of whitelisted email addresses.

A new quarantine report feature has also been added to GMS V14. This allows the system to automatically generate an email message with summary details of the contents of individual users’ quarantine folders. This email can be scheduled at configurable intervals, daily, weekly, etc. If a user receives large amounts of quarantined emails, this quick review feature saves significant time. Users can click on links within the summary email to logon to the interface and manage their quarantine mailbox; actions available include view, accept, delete, empty, report false positive and adding senders to whitelists.

Significant enhancements to the authentication functionality means that a system running GMS as a firewall or gateway to another internal mail server can now check the legitimacy of the recipient on the internal server before accepting any incoming email to that account. This aids in preventing large quantities of email being sent and then later rejected as unknown. This also prevents the non-delivery reports these email would have previously generated.

"Flexible configuration options make this the best feature upgrade Gordano has ever done," said Jamie Easterman, Managing Director, London Web Ltd. "As an ISP and Network Provider with a diverse commercial customer base, the new whitelisting features allow us to cater to each of their requirements."
